ORDERING

TAX EXEMPT
Applies only if you are located in Illinois.  We need a current valid tax-exempt certificate, with identification number, IL-CRT61 Certificate of Resale form, in order to remove the sales tax from the order.  During the ordering process, at the bottom of the "Payment Page", you can enter your tax exempt ID.  Upon order completion, our website will generate an Order / Invoice Number.  Put that number on the top of the tax exempt ID certificate and IL-CRT61 form.  Your certificate and IL-CRT61 can be e-mailed to us (if you have it in PDF format), or faxed to us at 877-537-1819.

Our website will do its best to accurately estimate your shipping cost when you place an order, but this is only an estimate.  At time of order placement, the estimated shipping cost will be based on shipping one box from one location.  The shipping estimator cannot compute shipping cost for products added to an order from drop-down boxes, shipping from multiple locations, shipping multiple boxes, dimensional weight upcharges, delivery zones.  Carriers now charge dimensional weight on all shipments, this has increased the shipping cost on most orders.  Websites cannot compute what dimension box(es) the order will ship in, there is no way of guessing exact dimensional weight charges.  Estimated shipping cost will be adjusted, up or down, to the actual shipping cost.  Shipping weights on items are approximates only.  Orders shipping in multiple boxes, and/or from multiple locations, will be billed shipping charges for all shipped.  By placing an order, customer agrees that a shipping increase of up to $20.00 is authorized.  Attic Trunk does not notify customers of cost increases for less than $20.00.

Attic Trunk uses estimated shipping costs, rather than a flat rate, because the website offers such a large variety of merchandise; some items are heavy, some light, and some very delicate, each requiring specialized packaging.  Shipping cost either includes, or can be affected by: delivery speed, weight, dimensional weight (box dimensions), packing supplies required, delivery zone, residential or business delivery, fuel charges, insurance, multiple shipping locations.  If carrier has to correct your shipping address, customer agrees to pay the carrier's address correction charge and $5.00 processing fee per correction charge.  Address correction fee will be billed by Attic Trunk.

Customer agrees to pay actual shipping/freight cost on wholesale orders and orders over $100.00.  Website shipping estimator cannot calculate multiple boxes and box dimensions.  Some orders may ship directly from manufacturers.  Your bill will be adjusted to the actual shipping cost once Attic Trunk is notified of that cost.

For orders weighing over 150 pounds, these need to be ordered with a freight method, or the current shipping calculation system will not accept it because 150 pounds is maximum weight for carriers.

An "Over Maximum Limits" charge, determined by the carrier, can apply to any packages that exceed the carrier’s size limits or when dimensional weight exceeds package weight.  This may occur on odd shaped products, certain fountains, computer cases, light weight products with large dimensions such as light bulbs.  Light bulbs require extra cushioning and often ship in medium to large boxes.  Repeat orders may vary in shipping cost depending on how much padding the warehouse uses to pack an order, dimensional weight and number of boxes; this happens mostly with large light bulb orders.  Attic Trunk uses real time data, when available, for calculating shipping cost. Any time a carrier changes their pricing, it is reflected in the shipping cost.  Upgraded shipment services provided by carriers may add additional cost to shipment(s) such as up-charge for dimensional weight.  Largest cost increases are usually on orders with upgraded shipping that must ship in a box larger than approximately 8" x 8" x 7".

Processing time is from the time your order is received until it ships.  High demand products normally ship in less than 24 hours; other products 1-3 business days. Certain orders may take longer.  Processing make take longer around special days and holidays.  Processing time for chemicals, computer customizations and medium to high end fountains may take 3-4 days.  The day your order is received is not a processing day.

Processing time may be increased when shipping to a secondary address (not your billing address).  Off-lease/used/reconditioned computer equipment requires additional processing time as this equipment is loaded with software, customized and tested prior to shipping.  Orders shipping directly from manufacturers or distributors may require additional processing time.  Attic Trunk does not guarantee delivery on the date requested but will do the best possible.

Delivery time depends on the type of shipping service you specify and your location.  If we cannot ship using your selected shipping method, we will ship using the next most similar method.  Attic Trunk reserves the right to change customer's shipping method for any reason.  Attic Trunk will routinely downgrade shipping methods from that selected to a less expensive method in the event the lesser cost service delivers in the same number of days or faster.  This saves our customers money and the adjustment will show on our automatically dispatched Status Update e-mail(s).

Carriers do not count the day an order ships as a shipping day.  The carrier's shipping transit time starts the day after the carrier receives the order/package.  This is standard across all carriers. Carriers may not guarantee delivery times.  Check with the carrier you select.  We have provided links to all our carriers below.

Most products ship from the Midwest, "SL" product codes ship from the west, chemicals ship from the east coast.  No jewelry orders will be shipped using USPS Ground for insurance reasons.

We are monitoring shipping rates, as our goal is to charge only the actual shipping costs.

When you get to the Shipping Form, if you have any questions or a "need by" date, please put a note in the "Comments" box when you order.  Attic Trunk does not guarantee delivery dates.

Tracking Numbers
Orders are updated with tracking numbers within 24 hours of confirmed shipment.  If your tracking number shows "in transit" or "billing information" and nothing else, that would mean it is enroute to the carrier's nearest hub.  When the hub checks it in, the carrier's computers will show the new status.

Confirmation E-mail / Status Updates
A confirmation e-mail is sent out as soon as an order is submitted.  Status Updates are automatically e-mailed anytime an order is touched.  If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail from us, please check your spam, bulk, or junk mail folders.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
Products illustrated are actual photos of the products currently available.  Product descriptions are created from information the manufacturer provided, product packaging, etc.  Manufacturer's photos on product packaging may vary slightly from the actual product.  Sizes of products at Attic Trunk's website are provided by the manufacturers.  Because off-lease, used and reconditioned equipment offers sell out quickly, the specifications also change quickly.  Customer should e-mail Attic Trunk to verify offers, especially with older offer dates.  We will verify the offer availability when we review your order.

Attic Trunk does its best with generous product descriptions, pictures and help via phone or e-mail to assist customers in selecting the right products the first time.  Ultimately, it is up to the customer to decide which product will suit their needs.

Customers should use information from the entire product description in all purchasing decisions.  When using cross-references, the customer needs to match the entire product description to their old product.  Many manufacturer product identification codes are not specific to one exact product but represent a "series" of products.  If unsure, ask us for help before ordering.

Regarding computers and laptops, computer operating systems do not always report system resources correctly.  Microsoft operating systems do not report CPU (processor) speed correctly, especially on laptops.  For this reason, CPU speed for laptops should be checked in the CMOS setup.

Although our staff works diligently to insure the accuracy of product descriptions, product pictures, options and prices, Attic Trunk reserves the right to correct typographical and photographic errors.  Attic Trunk is not responsible for any inaccurate product descriptions or product claims.  Attic Trunk makes no guarantees regarding cross-references.  Different monitors and device screens do not all show colors the same.  Attic Trunk is not responsible or liable for any inconvenience, damages, shipping charges, computer software, product color on customers screen is different from actual product color, or anything else related to product(s) that failed to meet customer expectations.

LIGHTING FACTS
Electronic Code of Federal Regulations part 305.20 Lighting Facts are provided on as available bias on Attic Trunk, many bulbs are prior distribution to new government regulation requirements, these are exempt from the new regulations and do not have lighting facts; all such bulbs are sold out permanently when gone.  Prior distribution bulbs may have some similar lighting data to on the packaging.  Exact lighting facts images are not always available as manufacturers often replace bulb versions with newer bulb versions without changing the UPC and model/part numbers, in this situation the closest model version's lighting facts image will be provided instead.  The platform Attic Trunk is currently hosted on only allows two images, we have added links that open lighting facts in a small pop-up window.

PRODUCT UPDATES AND SUBSTITUTIONS
Attic Trunk and its manufacturers reserve the right to update model designs, or substitute models or colors.  Usually, these changes represent an equal or better value for our customers.  It is not the responsibility of Attic Trunk to notify customers of product substitutions or changes.  Although we like to keep product descriptions matching the current version in stock, this is not always possible due to the way manufacturers phase out and in product versions.  Therefore, Attic Trunk will ship the version the manufacturer has supplied to us until gone.  Attic Trunk is not responsible or liable for any inconvenience, damages, shipping charges, or anything else related to product(s) that failed to meet expectations.

WARRANTY
If a product is defective, e-mail Attic Trunk immediately with your order number (found on the e-mail Status Update) and with a detailed explanation of the defect prior to sending anything back.  You will be e-mailed instructions as to how to proceed.

Fountains and pond pumps are water cooled, thus running them without water will burn up the motor, which is not a defect.  Improperly handled halogen bulbs will blister and burn out prematurely, also not a defect.  Attic Trunk will test products claimed to be defective.

Most defective products are handled directly by the manufacturer/distributor providing the warranty.  Some defective products are handled by Attic Trunk even though the manufacturer/distributor determines the product warranty terms.  Some products may be warranted for only days, while other products have a year or more.  Defective light bulbs and other products, not handled directly by the manufacturer, are credit only, no replacements will be sent.

Defectives handled by Attic Trunk require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number prior to defective return.  Defectives are handled on a case-by-case basis.  Customer agrees that all returned products will be 100% complete and will include the original packaging material, manuals, blank warranty cards, and other accessories provided by the manufacturer.  If any component of the returned defective product is missing or damaged, Attic Trunk's defective return policy will be breached, and Attic Trunk will reject the entire defective return.

Customer agrees to bear all shipping charges and all risk of loss for the returned product and understands Attic Trunk does not reimburse for shipping costs to, or from, the customer on defective items being returned.  Defectives can only be shipped back in a corrugated box with a tracking number and insurance.  Shipping anything back in any other way voids the defective return.  Defective returns that have not followed this procedure will not be processed.

Should any card issuing bank disputes occur, customer agrees to pay the $50.00 charge per dispute.  Opening an issuing bank dispute voids all previous offers made by Attic Trunk to resolve the problem. Customer agrees to pay all collections related fees.

SHIPPING DAMAGE AND LOST PACKAGES
For lost packages, the customer should first contact the carrier.  The carrier may have notes the driver made, such as: behind bush, inside storm door, etc.  For any kind of shipping damage or lost package, it is up the customer to notify Attic Trunk.  Re-ordering is the fastest way to get a replacement, however, we recommend waiting for the determination from the carrier before re-ordering.  If re-ordered and the carrier delivers first shipment late, you will be billed for all shipments, which are not returnable.

Shipping damage and lost package insurance coverage varies from carrier to carrier.  Some carriers have very limited reimbursement, such as 10 cents on the pound and may not reimburse complete freight shipping cost.  Attic Trunk is not responsible for reimbursement of any costs related to shipping damage, freight damage, lost packages.  Nothing will be credited or re-shipped to customer until carrier completes investigation of damaged or lost package.  Should any card issuing bank disputes occur, customer agrees to pay the $50.00 charge per dispute incident.  Opening an issuing bank dispute voids all previous offers made by Attic Trunk to resolve the problem.  Customer agrees to pay all collections related fees.

ADULT TOYS, GEAR, NOVELTY PRODUCTS
Buyer affirms that sexually explicit material depicting bondage, S/M and other fetish activities are allowed by the laws governing Buyer's region and that Buyer is old enough to view and purchase such material according to those laws.  Adult toys, gear, personal care/use products are sold as novelties and Buyer assumes all risk of these items.  Personal care/use products are not returnable by law.  Under the penalties of perjury, I (the “Buyer”) certify that I am of legal age to view and purchase these products, that purchase or possession of adult novelty products is not in violation of governing region (nation/state) laws.  Attic Trunk will not liable for any situations related to buyer’s purchase of adult novelty products, with completion of a purchase Buyer has agreed to these terms.

All sales are final, no returns, no exchanges, no refused shipments.  If an order has shipping damage or is mis-packed notify Attic Trunk right away.  Our customers are sure of getting only new, fresh merchandise and not something that has been returned, in questionable condition, or possibly with parts missing.  Most retailers have a no returns policy for electronic and electrical type items: computer equipment (computers, monitors, printers, accessories), pumps, light bulbs (especially LED and CFL bulbs as these contain electronics), light bulbs will also fail from improper handling.  Federal law prohibits returns of pest control products that have been opened or used.  Adult toys, gear, personal care/use products are not returnable by law.  Most warranty claims are handled directly manufacturers and some are not.  If not sure, contact us for warranty claims help.  Customer agrees to pay all ship to and return charges on shipments.  Shipping charges may also include unpaid international customs and brokerage fees.  Should any card issuing bank disputes occur, customer agrees to pay $50.00 to Attic Trunk per dispute incident.  Opening an issuing bank dispute voids all previous offers made by Attic Trunk to resolve the problem.  Customer agrees to pay all collections related fees.  Customer agrees to Attic Trunk's complete policy as posted on our website.  The Electronic Signatures Act (Public Law No: 106-229) went into effect on October 1, 2000 and gives electronic contracts the same weight as those executed on paper.

SECURITY and ENCRYPTION
Attic Trunk uses the most sophisticated level of security.  All orders and payment information will be encrypted (scrambled) using industry standards.  In addition, all Attic Trunk servers and computers are protected by advanced firewall technology.  This encrypted and secure data is routed to Attic Trunk, decrypted and processed.  An order confirmation e-mail is sent to the customer.  Attic Trunk's security (TLS API) guarantees that the orders and payment information generated by the web server remains totally secure.  All transactions done with Attic Trunk are processed in "real time" to keep your information secure.  Your credit card numbers and personal information are encrypted (scrambled) making it nearly impossible to capture them as they travel over the web.  Experts in security believe your credit card information is much more at risk when you give your credit card to a waitress who takes it into a back room to swipe on the restaurant's machine.
